Jonathan Lovitz - StartOut (Director of Communications & Operations)
Jonathan D. Lovitz currently serves as Director of Communications + Operations, as well as the official spokesman for StartOut, the national nonprofit educating, inspiring, and networking thousands of LGBT entrepreneurs and business leaders. He travels the country speaking to conferences and the media about LGBT economic empowerment and the role business will play in creating equity for the LGBT community in the coming years.

After years of touring in some of the biggest Broadway hits, and as news anchor and host on television, Jonathan put performing behind him and now uses his public profile to promote the many causes he cherishes most. He is a regular commentator on MSNBC, NPR, The Advocate, Out Magazine, among others, and regularly speaks, fundraises, and advocates for The Democratic Party, The Trevor Project, Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, GLSEN, and more.

Jonathan also regularly speaks to colleges and universities, as well as packed ballrooms of business and political leaders, inspiring those crowds to make a difference. While business and youth causes are his primary focus, Jonathan looks for any chance to serve any community in need of a voice, including serving on multiple nonprofit Boards of Directors. Jonathan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida in 2006 and proudly returned to give the keynote address at the Pride Awareness Month opening ceremony in 2014.

Mini-Demo Day [4-5 pitches] + Investor Panel

StartOut is delighted to present a sample of our Meet the Angels and Demo Day programs, part of our Access to Capital series. Our panel of active investors will share the realities, from their perspective, of investing in early stage companies.

The panel will take questions directly from the audience during the event, and also encourages questions to be submitted in advance on Twitter.

After the panel, we will present our highly popular “pitch practice” competition where a select few entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to practice their business pitches in front of the countdown clock, with the opportunity to win a private feedback session from the panelist[s). Interested in pitching? Email us at info@StartOut.org
