Djuan Trent - Former Miss Kentucky
Djuan Trent is a motivational speaker, writer and advocate for equality and empowerment. Crowned Miss Kentucky in the summer of 2010, Trent went on to compete in the 2011 Miss America Pageant, where she was voted Contestant's Choice and finished as a top ten semi-finalist. In 2014, Trent she chose to come out publicly as "queer", rattling ideas and conceptions of many throughout the nation, and becoming the first "out" pageant title holder to have competed on a national stage.

Currently, Djuan Trent enjoys traveling and inspiring others through her speaking and writing. She maintains her own blog, djuanTRENT.com, and also does freelance writing. In addition to traveling, speaking and writing, Trent is also committed to being involved in her community and advocating for what she believes in. She has developed partnerships and relationships with organizations such as Dare to Be Bold, The Human Rights Campaign, Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center, The Kentucky Fairness Campaign, Kentucky Interagency Council on Homelessness, Many Voices, and Powered with Pride. She serves on the Miss Kentucky Board of Directors, Berea College Young Alumni Advisory Council and is a co­-chair for Southerners for Freedom to Marry. She is also an alumna of Emerge Kentucky, a political program that identifies and trains women to run for public office.

In her free time, Trent enjoys cooking, nature walks, Netflix and anything Beyonce. She is also a big fan of social media and enjoys her share of selfies and extreme hashtags.
